Media Niche

Media niche….. media… niche… what counts these days as a media niche. With millions of people online in various forms its hard to say what counts as a niche and especially what media niche am I currently interested in. me personally I don’t follow people on twitch and I don’t single out certain youtubers who I religiously watch. I consume a variety of content all over the place from Cowbelly meme videos to Binging with Babish and his cooking, bringing together the food I always wish I could have had from movies until I realised how bad and unrealistic they were. Picking a media niche is extremely difficult (well at least for me) and the only real content I can think of is from youtubers and content creators who make say 1 video a month or every couple of months for example the ever hilarious Soviet Womble and his band of merry friends. Soviet womble is probably the one YouTuber who I have been viewing content for years and still haven’t moved on, in the years since I first found his YouTube channel I have changed the tastes of what I enjoy many of times most notably PewDiePie, I used to be addicted to him however I started skipping his videos when he finished his conkers bad furday playthrough and nowadays cant stay engaged on a video of his for more than 2 minutes but Soviet Womble, ive probably watched each of his videos a hundred times each and still haven’t gotten sick of his content. What I find interesting about him is his views on videos compared to his subscribers and the awareness of his channel within my own friend groups, each of his videos constantly gets millions of views for example one of his CSGO bullshittery video got 25 million views however he only has 3.8 million subscribers and a vast majority of people I have spoken to in person about him had no idea who he was until I showed them his content. I feel that this brings up a media niche that I would like to look into for my DA.
